Having only been beaten by former world champions in title attempts, Turkish fighter based in Germany, Oktay Urkal took a unanimous twelve round decision over Maxim Nesterenko on Saturday night in Germany. The fight was an under-card attaraction to support the main event feature between Markus Beyer and Omar Sheika as extensively previewed on this site. Only beaten by Vivian Harris and Kostya Tszyu, Urkal is well placed as the European welterweight champion and could figure in a world title fight in wither the welterweight division or the light welterweight division in the near future.
