Hatton and Hare Move On in Victory

By Curtis McCormick September 10th, 2005 All Boxing Results

Is a Showdown Inevitable?

Two top British Welterweights saw action on the undercard of Clinton Woods' successful title defense against Julio Gonzalez last night in Sheffield with rising contender Matthew Hatton belting out Belarussian journeyman Dmitry Yanushevich and fallen ex-Commonwealth/WBF star James Hare going the distance with Russian trial horse Sergey Starkov. Both bouts were essentially tune up fights, with Hatton dominating light middle Yanushevich for all four rounds before the tourist suffered an arm injury and Hare steered his way through all six of his rounds with the iron chinned Starkov. Should both men continue on their winning ways expect a box-off to occur at some point, possibly as a title eliminator for the British Championship currently held by the patient counter puncher from Chorley, Michael Jennings.
