Tacoma, Washington – Brian Halquist Productions is announcing the changes in its upcoming fight card for this Saturday, September 17, 2005.
The main event will now feature Spokane’s Chauncy Welliver (27-4-3, 10KO’s) and Travis Fulton (12-12-0, 12KO’s) from Iowa in a ten round fight. “Chauncy is a longtime favorite among northwest boxing fans,” says Brian Halquist “and we are very excited to have him back at the Emerald Queen Casino this fall.” Chauncy’s opponent has as many knockouts as he has victories, so this is sure to be an exciting.
The other major change on the card reflects no female bout. “We tried really hard to get a women’s fight on this card, and contacted literally dozens of prospects, but the logistics just didn’t work out for the females we wanted for our card.” Brian Halquist commented, though he added “we still have a few fights left this year and we aren’t going to quit working on getting a female fight before the year is out.”
The rest of the card is as follows:
Nate Smith (Pro-debut), Puyallup, WA vs. Matt Blake (0-2), Billings MT
Roger Cantrell (3-0), Puyallup, WA vs. Aaron Soboleski (Pro-Debut), Syracuse, NY
Kevin Reynolds (1-0), Vancouver, BC vs. Leo Bercier (0-1), Billings, MT
Walter Wright (8-1-0), Seattle, WA vs. Daniel Neal (9-10-1), Columbus, OH
Yamin Mohammad (3-8-1), Dayton, OH vs. Daniel Gonzalez (6-3-2), San Diego, CA
David Torres (10-0), Othello, WA vs. Andrew Marquez (5-3-1), Pueblo, CO
Tickets (priced at $75, $40 and $20) are available at the Emerald Queen Box Office or any Tickemaster outlet. For additional information contact Rachel@halquistproductions.com
