Former IBF Lightweight Champion Javier Jauregui, 49-12-2 (34), tries yet another comeback tonight as the thirty two year old from Chatito, Mexico squares off against popular Filipino fighter Randy Suico, 23-1 (20), at USC's Lyon Center in Los Angeles. Telefutura airs the show, put on by Golden Boy Promotions, which also includes former light welter world title challenger Ben "Wonder" Tackie, who faces Norberto Bravo at welter.
Jauregui lost his IBF crown to Julio Diaz 16 months ago and had battled his way back up to a title eliminator for his old belt but was outboxed by slick southpaw Ricky Quiles in June. Tackie, 26-5 (16), will be looking for his third straight win after losing a WBU title shot to Ricky Hatton on December of 2003.
