In a spectacular light welter shootout, Miguel Cotto defended his WBO crown but not without moments of major difficulty on his way to outslugging and stopping a game Ricardo Torres, who had been undefeated coming into the contest. Quick fisted light welter Kendall Holt had his hands full with better than expected Ukrainian journeyman Vladimir Khodokovski and former heavyweight world title challenger Henry Akinwande carved up a brave but outgunned Tipton Walker.
