on Oct. 1, James Toney defends his IBA heavyweight crown against Dominick Guinn.
Said Williamson:
"Is this a dream come true? You better believe it! This is it, baby! I have waited my whole life for this opportunity.
"I feel great. It's a little tough keeping all this energy bottled because I am so ready to break loose. But Saturday is coming. It just can't get here soon enough.
"For me, this world title fight is happening at just the right time. At one point, I may have thought it should have come a bit sooner. Others may have thought it should have come a bit later. But, bottom line for me is that it couldn't have come at a better time. The timing is perfect.
"The biggest key for me is that I have to outthink Chris Byrd. But I also have to be faster, smarter, quicker and punch harder. But outthinking him under pressure in the biggest key.
"I have to make him make a mistake and take advantage. I know he is going to try and do the same thing to me.
"I feel very good about this matchup. I am very confident.''
