Last night in Hamburg, Germany, WBO Heavyweight Champion Lamon Brewster was trailing well behind on the scorecards after getting thoroughly outboxed by challenger Luan Krasniqi, but was able to canvas the German in the eighth before finishing the job in the ninth round. Krasniqi, the current European Champion, used his superior boxing skills to outbusy the sometimes lethargic Brewster but simply didn't have the stamina to keep up his stick and move strategy. By the seventh round Krasniqi was forced into trading blows with the American, something he studious had avoided for the previous six rounds. Brewster's iron chin and powerful arsenal came in handy in the eighth as the Los Angeles man had to walk through a series of full blooded counters from Krasniqi before wreaking havoc with his own bombs. With the win Brewster is now in line for a unification match with one of the other beltholders at heavyweight after having come through this dangerous trip to Germany.
