British heavyweight hopeful Scott Gammer takes on former domestic champion Julius Francis tonight at the Showground in Carmarthen, Wales, on a Paul Boyce promotion. While Francis hasn't won a bout in over two years, the 40 year old has been in with the best heavyweights in Europe and should provide the 28 year old from Pembroke with valuable experience. Gammer can ill afford a slip up at this crucial point in his career, as in his most recent outing the undfeated Welshman won a British Heavyweight eliminator by stopping Mark Krence in eight rounds. That title is currently held by hammer fisted brawler Matthew Skelton, who will likely face Danny Williams later this year. Should both Gammer and Skelton make it through these scheduled bouts, a showdown between the two is all but certain.
