Tremendous knockout punchers Kelly Pavlik and Fulgencio Zuniga meet tomorrow night at the Aladdin Resort in Las Vegas on a Top Rank show televised by Telefutura. The vacant NABF Middleweight title is at stake and odds are, this won't go the distance. Undefeated Pavlik, 26-0 (23), of Youngstown, Ohio has crushing power in either hand and the boxing skills to get that concussive force reliably on target. Zuniga, of Barranquila, Colombia has only lost once in seventeen bouts, a failed WBO Light Middle challenge against Daniel Santos two years ago and has stopped all but one of his victims.
Due to his world title opportunity, the 28 year old Zuniga has fought at a higher level that Pavlik, managed by Cameron Dunkin, but the American puncher has arguably faced the better overall competiton than his Colombian opponent.
The winner of this bout will take the vacant NABF crown and will also move to the short list of contenders waiting to face the winner of the upcoming Jermain Taylor - Bernard Hopkins contest.
