Jamar Patterson to Defend Perfect Boxing Record

By saddo October 7th, 2005 All Press Releases

Local boxing fans can catch another glimpse of rising star Jamar Patterson (3-0, 2 KO’s) of Utica when Turning Stone Resort and Casino hosts a night of professional boxing at the Event Centre on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The evening's matches will be taped for DiBella Entertainment's "Broadway Boxing" series, airing on MSG Network, Fox Sports Net New England, Comcast Sportsnet and HDNET. Turning Stone is a major sponsor of the series, which is held in association with DBE.

This will be Patterson's fourth straight appearance at Turning Stone, where he has enjoyed nothing but success since joining the pro ranks. So far, the "Young Prince" is a perfect 3-0 with two knockouts in Verona. In August, he floored Alexis Rubin just 34 seconds into the second round. Patterson's upcoming opponent is Terrance Thomas (4-4, 1 KO) of Newburgh. They are scheduled for four rounds.

Three other Upstate residents are also on the card: Hector Alejandro (10-2, 7
KOs) of Buffalo, Kenny Abril (3-2-1, 3 KOs) of Rochester and Vincent Arroyo
(1-0, 1 KO) of Amherst. Their opponents will be announced at a later date.

The Main Event features Bronx Welterweight Joshua Clottey (27-1, 20 KOs),
currently ranked second in the world by the WBC and fifth by the WBO, against
Detroit's Marlon Thomas (32-5-1, 21 KOs). They are set to go 10 rounds.

In another intriguing 10-round match, Jeffery Resto (19-2, 13 KOs), of the
Bronx, will square off against Thomas Barrientes (27-8, 17 KOs), of Mercedes,
Texas.

Also, Michael Warrick (18-3, 11 KOs), making the trip from Landover, Md.,
will go eight rounds against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

Tickets -- priced at $25, $35, $45 and $75 -- are available by calling the
Showroom box office at 361-SHOW or toll-free at 1-877-833-SHOW Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased at any
Ticketmaster location or online at www.ticketmaster.com
