Middleweight Troy Rowland claimed a ten round decision tonight over power-punching opponent Epifanio Mendoza in his home state of Detroit Michigan. Rowland had to survive a knockdown administered by Mendoza in round seven but in the end he managed to outwork Mendoza over the ten round stretch and take the decision victory. Rowland brings his record to twenty-one wins with only one loss. Tonight was not the first time Rowland had to pick himself up from the canvas in order to go on and complete a win, and being known as a light puncher, it will not likely be the last time he will have to do it either. For tonight though, Rowland beats the more exciting puncher in Mendoza and looks forward to greater matches.
