Boxing in Australia: Geale, Gostelow and Anyos Win Crowns on Six Title Fight Card

By Curtis McCormick October 22nd, 2005 All Boxing Results

RDG Promotions put on a supershow at the Convention Center in Broadbeach, Australia with six title bouts on the card. Featherweight Sharon Anyos won the inagural WBC Female Featherweight title by hammering out a close unanimous ten round decision over Marcela Eliana Acuna while light welter Lance Gostelow stopped Kongthatwat Singwangcha after canvassing the Thai visitor twice in the fifth round to take the vacant IBF Pan Pacific trophy. In other bouts, Daniel Geale came off the floor in the seventh and knocked out Garry Comer in the eighth frame to capture the interim OPBF Light Middle belt, Emmett Gazzard dropped Shane Brock three times in the first to produce a first round stoppage in an Australian Bantamweight title bout, Adam Vella outboxed Matt Shaw to secure the vacant Aussie Middleweight strap and Paul Miller's vacant IBO Asia Pacific Super Middle title contest with Rico Chong Nee was declared a draw when Nee was badly cut during an accidental clash of heads in the third, as not enough rounds were completed to produce a winner.
