Undefeated NABF Champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero has been named honorary captain for Team USA when Team Mexico comes San Francisco for the biggest amateur boxing event of the year. For the first time ever -- on Sunday October 30th – San Francisco will be ground zero as the two greatest boxing powers on
the planet collide. Boasting one of the most intense sports rivalries in the world, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is preparing for a night of explosive international boxing competition as the Mexican National Team takes on Team USA. Mexico is bringing their best boxers and Team USA stands ready. No two
countries have more storied boxing histories, and none have produced more world champions. With national pride and position for the Beijing Olympics on the line -- the San Francisco Bay Area will get to see some of the best amateur boxers in the world. The event will feature bouts in 9 Olympic weight categories. "The Ghost" is elated at the fact that this competition is being held in his native land and is honored to be named team captain.
“I’m just happy that our armatures are getting some good exposure. I feel it
is
my duty to be there in support. I just want to thank the San Francisco Golden
Gloves committee for choosing me to be their captain.
