Sturm to Return Against Cherifi.

Felix Sturm, the man that first gained recognition by beating Oscar de la Hoya this June everywhere except on the judges scorecards will make his second return fight since that controversial loss on the fourth of December. Sturm will fight former world champion turned Strum Sturm to Return Against Cherifi.

European middleweight trialhorse Hassine Cherifi of France. Cherifi won his world title in 1998 against Keith Holmes but went on to lose to Holmes and has had a habit of fading down the stretch to the likes of Howard Eastman, Robin Reid and William Joppy. In Felx Trinidad’s farewell fight as it were, Cherifi was the sacrificial lamb, going down in four rounds before Trinidad’s Puerto Rican home crowd. Sturm might well be safe to look beyond Cherifi as the Frenchman seems to be a faded force, but Sturm’s next fight is mooted to be against Felix Trinidad and that would be an occasion that Sturm would have to be at his best. Stay tuned for more details as they happen.
