Mary Jo Sanders returns home to fight Iva Weston in Detroit, Michigan
Mary Jo Sanders is The Ring Magazine's 2005 Female Fighter of the Year. At 5'7", Mary Jo "KO" Sanders is the daughter of former Detroit Lions great Charlie Sanders. A naturally gifted athlete, she's a crowd pleaser, a great boxer, and a solid puncher; willing to stand toe-to-toe with the toughest. Her motto is "dream big, believe in yourself, and treat others the way you wish to be treated.". In the ring, where most fear to tread, Mary Jo has found a home.
Iva Weston may have the strength it takes to break down the walls of Mary Jo's home. A tough, confident teenager, Iva took up boxing because she was always getting into fights at school. Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, the nineteen year old, 5'71/2" powerhouse, has the hunger and passion to give Mary Jo a fight she won't forget. Iva is managed by Fitzroy Rogers.
This fight is youth against experience. Two strong fighters, one great match.
