Boxing In Germany: Felix Sturm Challenges Maselino Masoe on March 11

German middleweight contender Felix Sturm will challenge WBA world champion Maselino Masoe, 26-2 (25), on March 11 in Hamburg. Sturm, 24-1 (11), was originally scheduled to face Masoe on November 26, but was forced to pull out due to an elbow injury. He is now completely healed and back in training according to trainer Michael Timm. The card, which will take place at Hamburg's huge Color Line Arena, will be a world title twinbill with WBA bantamweight champion Wladimir Sidorenko, 18-0 (6), facing an opponent to be named in the other title clash.

Also in action will be heavyweight sensation Ruslan Chagaev, 18-0-1 (15). After his sensational second round knockout over American Rob Calloway the “White Tyson” off the Universum boxing stable will step into the ring again to fight for an international title - so will world rated super lightweight contender Andreas Kotelnik, 24-2 (11).

„This twin bill will demand a lot from me“,Michael Timm said, who is coaching Sturm, Sidorenko and Ruslan Chagaev. „But the croud will love those fights. My guys and their opponents will show the entire variety of boxing. Felix is back in training and his ellbow is completely healed. He’s eager to fight Masoe for the title.”

Former heavyweight title challenger Luan Krasniqi was originally slated to headline Universum's March 11 card, but agreed to move his comeback bout to April 29 to accomodate the Masoe-Sturm world title match after Masoe's promoter Don King requested the March 11 date. A possible location is the Hanns-Martin-Schleyerhalle of Stuttgart.

ZDF will broadcast the main event live in Germany.
