Introducing Curtis \”Showtime\” Stevens

By Katrina Walters February 11th, 2006 All Boxing Previews

Why The Hammerstein Ballroom In NYC Will Be A Knockout Feb 16!

"Many are called but few are chosen" is a familiar and true saying and those who are familiar with this verse understands the depth of the meaning, so I choose not to use it lightly in comparing it to the art of having "one punch knockout power". You have many fighters known for there jab, or there defense. Some for there fancy foot work and hand speed. There are even a few that go toe to toe with their opponents in a brawling type fashion of fighting, but there is a rare breed that comes along once in a blue moon that posses a great gift, the gift of being able to knockout an opponent with a single blow.

In my day growing up, I can remember one boxer by the name of Mike Tyson that possessed this awesome gift. At any given moment in any round an opponent can be rendered lifeless due to this tremendous, compact power. Years later the same gift chose a young champion by the name of Jeff Lacy. With similar tactics and style that Tyson exuded, Lacy effortlessly annihilates opponents with a single, devastating blow with either hand.

Now with the emergence of a young, hungry fighter by the name of Curtis Stevens, he not only hails from Brownsville, Brooklyn, the very same area that Mike Tyson graced the streets of , but he too have seemed to been chosen out of many to posses this great delivery system of dispensing opponents with one shot, whether it be to the body or the head. With an impressive ten wins with no losses and nine knockouts coming in devastating fashion, Stevens is a light heavyweight on the rise and full of power. He wows the crowd at every outing at The Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC and plans to do the same this Thursday Feb, 16, were he shares the night with heavyweight Fres Oquendo.

Known by most as one half of the "Chin Checkers" Curtis Stevens stands alone. And at the age of 20, "Showtime" handles the pressures of experienced opponents and ruckus crowds with relative ease. He's well beyond his years in ring experience and handles such an awesome gift with control and precision. He is definitely one to keep and eye on, and if possible one to watch live. He electrifies the ballroom with every outing. Curtis Stevens on the fast track to super stardom with all the tools to get him their. Call for tickets at 212-947-2577 and are priced at $150, $100, $80, $60, $40.
