Boxing Results From The Lucky Eagle Casino

By Boxing Press February 12th, 2006 All Press Releases

It was fight night 52 at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Washington and the canvas was on fire with seven superb contests! In the main event, light middle Reggie Davis stamped his authority all over Honorito Garcia, posting a ten round unanimous decision. Davis, a smooth, relentless boxing technician literally picked his opponent apart. The Portland, Oregon native focused on the body of Garcia, from Sacramento, CA, early before moving the attack upstairs later in the bout. The fight was never in doubt and Davis improves to 15-3 (7) on scores of 98-92 and 100-90 twice

Veteran lightweight Sean Plessis of Sparwood, British Colombia handed Washington State's Jesus Santiago a convincing six rounds points defeat. Frustration was apparent on the face of Santiago as the man from Renton was unable to get a handle on the cat-like reflexes and tremendous handspeed of Plessis. By the time the six rounds were complete, Plessis, now 17-2 (4), had ducked, jabbed, bobbed, weaved and just plain out hustled the more powerful Santiago to take the contest 58-56 and 59-55 twice.

In a scheduled four round super middleweight bout, Robert Marthaller of Vancouver, WA, exhibitited seemingly boundless energy enroute to dominating heavy handed but sluggish Bellvue, Washington man Paul Kravchenko. Marthaller's liveliness and wild hairstyle evoked chants of "Kramer, Kramer, Kramer" from the crowd throughout the contest as the wiry Washingtonian clearly evoked images of the beloved character Cosmo Kramer of the popular "Seinfeld" television show. After his forceful performance, Marthaller, 4-1-1 (2), was later voted by the audience as their favorite fighter of the night. Giddy up!

Gifted super featherweight high school student and former Golden Gloves Champion Eloy Perez from Rochester, WA dazzled his adoring hometown fans early in a bout with the hard as nails Caesar Olmedo, sending the Salt Lake City veteran crashing to the canvas in the second from a lightning fast combination. Amazingly, the big hearted Olmedo got up and gave the teenager all he could handle the rest of the way but could not overcome the greater gifts of Perez, who moves to 4-0 (1) via scores of 38-37 and 39-36 twice.

Heavyweights Villi Bloomfield and Shawn Kocab provided the fireworks of the evening
with a single round of one sided fury. Kocab, of Nampa, ID, entered the ring with a strong and powerful physique as if he had been chisled from granite. The soft looking, chubby Bloomfield wasn't impressed as he shocked the audience by forcibly pummelling the seemingly defenseless Kocab. Bloomfield battered the hapless Kocab so completely that the muscular Idahoan suffered a broken nose and horrific laceration
above the right eye, forcing officials to call off the action. Bloomfield, of Everett, Washington, gets the stoppage at 2:45 of the first round and improves to 1-0 (1).

Tourist Lester Valmores made his trip from Henderson, NV in vain as Vancouver's Jason Davis took a unanimous decision during the four round light welterweight bout.
Aggressiveness and determination proved to be the difference in a hard fought contest
as Davis moves to 2-0 (1) via scores of 39-37 and 40-36 twice.

At light middleweight, Portland, Oregon's Cedrick Armstrong canvased Montanan Jess Solway three times in the first round, raising his hands in victory at 2:42 of the inital frame as Solway lay crumpled at the victor's feet. Armstrong goes to 1-0 (1).
