Brian Magee is quietly confident after watching Carl Froch’s lacklustre performance in retaining his Commonwealth title against Australian Dale Westerman at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Friday night.
Magee who was ringside on Friday as a guest of Sky TV allowed himself a few smiles and feels his style and determination will be enough to beat the unbeaten Froch in front of his raucous supporters in Belfast.
Promoter Frank Maloney however warned Team Magee not to read too much into Froch’s performance on Friday.
“One bad night at the office doesn’t turn Carl Froch into a bad fighter; the one thing I have noticed though is that Froch never admits mistakes and his arrogance could be his downfall”.
There are now just under six weeks to go until the fight that the British boxing fraternity has been eagerly awaiting takes place. The fight is in many ways very similar to Collins and Eubank, an Irishman against an Englishman; will Froch be able to change history and this time stop the Irishman from winning?
The mouth watering clash for the British and Commonwealth titles takes place at the historic Kings Hall in Belfast on the 31st March 2006.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by ringing the ticket hotline 0871-2261508 or online at http://www.maloneypromotions.com.
