Headlining an action packed card is the rematch between Colin Kidd Wilson and Nathan Briggs. Wilson was victorious in their last outing but admitted that the injury to Brigg's hand during the fight was a telling factor. Nathan Briggs has now had time to recover and is more focussed than ever before. Rarely is an Australian Title fight given the credibilty it deserves but these two combatants are at the top of their game and both desperate to win giving the fight an air of something special. This is the pinnacle of Aussie boxing - The Australian Heavyweight Title.
Also on tap is the Australian Super Cruiserweight title fight between Nermin Sabanovic Vand James Ellis. The Super Cruiserweight Title is a new initiative for the ANBF and this fight is for the vacant title. Danny Buzza's retirement has left the title vacant for the last two months. Nermin Sabanovic is relatively unknown within Australia's boxing industry but in his hometown of Zenica in Bosnia he is an absolute legend. Nermin fought twice in the Olympic Games beating Swen Ottke and many other notable fighters. His amateur career finished with 311 wins from 356 fights. He is the 9 times Bosnian Champion, 8 times Golden Gloves Champion with over 130 International fights. James Ellis although not having the International experience of Sabanovic has youth and over 130 amatuer fights on his side. He lost a narrow points decision to the former Champion Buzza and is confident of a victory. Ellis trains at Emerald with Blair Cowboy Wilson.
