Viking warriors began to raid sacred monasteries all over Britain starting in the year 793 and the unprecedented ferocity of their looting cursed each part of the island nation over the next 300 years. Again and again the Scandinavian invaders robbed the British of their most prized possessions, only to sail back to their frigid homelands across the North Sea. Fast forward to the year 2006 and on Friday, March 24, towering Finnish middleweight Kai "Ironman" Kauramaki will mount an assault on the spiritual home of British boxing, London's York Hall, in his attempt to rip away the promise of one of the hottest prospects on the domestic scene, undefeated starlet Anthony Small.

Like any good rampaging Norseman, Kauramaki is confident of a successful campaign that's sure to bring a wealth of plunder but the battle scarred veteran is too experienced not to be wary of the danger posed by the brash and fast-handed Small. "This is a challenging task but also a good opportunity for me," said the Finn, who added with a hint of icy foreshadowing, "I'm meeting a young, unbeaten and rising prospect but I'm well motivated! I'm sure the atmosphere will be fantastic with all of his fans packed in the arena but there will be only myself and Anthony Small in the ring."

Kauramaki is no stranger to danger and just this past weekend the rugged Laplander saw his scheduled warm up fight called off in Finland due to a bomb threat. It will take more than that however to keep the seasoned mercenary from stealing the unbeaten record of the popular flash Deptford based Small. "I'm looking forward to this fight in London and am fully focused for the coming battle," intoned Kauramaki, gravely. "I promise the British fans an action filled war and will show them the meaning of the Finnish word Sisu [guts] !"

Kai Kauramaki and Anthony Small will clash on the undercard of Maloney Promotions' "The Hayemaker Hits London" bill from York Hall that sees European Cruiserweight Champion David Haye set to defend his crown against Denmark's Lasse Johansen on Friday, March 24. Sky Sports will televise this exciting evening of boxing starting at 10PM GMT on SS1.
