Friday nights successful Maloney Promotions show at the York Hall in Bethnal Green where the charismatic cruiserweight champion David Haye brought both boxing and non-boxing fans together and proved that he has the talent and the personality to sell out the London venues and at 9pm the sold out signs were up and the box office well and truly closed.
Haye who gave a patient and talented performance showed that his time in Miami was not misspent as he applied the lessons he had learnt from former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis. He gave a first class and masterful display with his jab and area he had been working on with Lewis.
New promoters Maloney Promotions are confident that on that performance and another couple of fights Haye will be ready to go for World glory in the cruiserweight division.
Haye would be happy to fight Mark Hobson or Carl Thompson but because of boxing politics these fights may not be able to be made so the search is already on for Haye's next opponent.
Maloney Promotions have now set out their stall and have shown where they have placed the goalposts for others to follow. Their next major tournament in London is on May 26th at the traditional home of British Boxing the York Hall when the much anticipated British and Commonwealth super-middleweight title fight between Carl Froch and Brian Magee finally takes place.
It would be a great achievement for Maloney Promotions if they can achieve the same crowd and atmosphere for the 26th May show tickets are now on sale online at http://www.maloneypromotions.com or via the ticket hotline on 0871 226 1508.
