On Friday 21st April Scott Lawton and Gary Reid took time out of their busy training schedules to help three juniors from Silverdale ABC. Luke Hodgkinson (13), Nathan Russo (14) and Sam Leverton (15) were given advice and coaching by Lawton and Reid who are both training vigorously in preparation for title challenges at Stoke’s Kings Hall on 6th May.
Whilst in the gym the three young boxers had the opportunity to watch Ian Clyde sparring, get advice from Gary Reid and to workout in the ring with Scott Lawton. Luke, Nathan and Sam are currently preparing for their next bouts on Silverdale ABC’s next show at Knutton Ex-Servicemen’s Club on 10th May; tickets are available from Silverdale ABC.
Scott Lawton defends his Midlands Area Lightweight Title against Coventry’s Baz Carey and Gary Reid challenges Scotland’s Kevin McIntyre for the British Masters Title at the Kings Hall, Stoke on 6th May.
Afterwards, Scott Lawton said: “They seem like three good lads and they all have some talent. I’m looking forward to being ringside to watch them box on the 10th, I hope they will come and cheer for me, Gary and the other lads on the 6th.”
