| Impact Boxing today confirmed that their 6th May event at the Kings Hall Stoke-on-Trent will now consist of six bouts. Unfortunately, the popular Micky Abbott is unable to compete on the evening but Team Impact are confident that he will take part in future events. Both Scott Lawton and Gary Reid face tough opponents in their respective title challenges but they are both reported to be in tip-top condition as are the remainder of the stable. |

Impact’s Head Coach, Lindon Newbon, reports: “Both Scott and Gary are extremely well prepared for their contests and I have never seen either of them quite so focused and we are all confident that they will perform on the night. All the lads in the gym have done some tough sparring and there is a great team spirit about the place; everyone is feeding off the atmosphere and supporting each other.”
“Jimmy (The Whirlwind) Doherty is looking in great shape and we are all really pleased with his progress. Chris Edwards, as ever, is the perfect pro and he too has never been better prepared. We are particularly pleased with Danny Johnston’s condition and expect to see an improvement in his fortunes. Ian Clyde, the former jump jockey, is very tough and fans should expect to see an impressive debut from him.”
The full line-up is as follows:
Gary Reid vs Kevin McIntyre
British Masters Title
Scott Lawton vs Baz Carey
Midlands Area Title
Chris Edwards vs Gary Shields
Danny Johnston vs Derek Grieve
Jimmy “The Whirlwind’ Doherty vs Chris Brophy
Ian Clyde vs Aldon Stewart
The weigh-in will take place at 4 pm on Friday 5th May at ST1 Club Hanley.
Tickets for the 6th May event are available by contacting: 07854 862463
