Sports Network’s Superb Homecoming Show Set For Saturday 8 July, 2006

The red carpet led the way into pride of Cardiff City centre’s Millennium Stadium, all kitted out with deck chairs, beach balls and Walls Cornetto’s on tap. The management at the unrivalled venue looked to get their “Summer of Sizzling Entertainment” well and truly on its way.

The Homecoming, Wales’ biggest boxing show ever staged, with no fewer than seven championship bouts on the same card, is a great chance to showcase the British stars of boxing. With WBO/IBF Super Middle Champion Joe Calzaghe headlining and chief support scheduled to be Danny Williams and Matt Skelton going head to head for the second time and Gary Lockett finally getting it on with Ryan Rhodes, the bill is looking to be packed full of action.

Unfortunately the Infamous TBA is going to have his work cut out at the moment with no other opponents confirmed. He features greatly. Others to appear on the card are Swansea’s Enzo Maccarinelli, Bradley Pryce, Lee Jones of Cardiff vs Tony Doherty and Bolton’s Amir Khan, who is scheduled for a six round “featured attraction”.

Unfazed by the confusion over opposition Joe Calzaghe says he has plenty of time to prepare and is looking to maintain his standard and performance he used to raise his profile, in the US against Lacy back in March, and is sure there will be another American brought over for him to take apart.

Tickets are priced between £30 - £300 and are available from Ticket Master and Ticket Line.
