The Carl Froch-Brian Magee title fight has been scheduled for a couple of months now, the posters are out and the tickets are selling well. There has been plenty of talk from Team Magee but not a word from the champion.
This is a man who has never been frightened to voice his opinions claiming to be 'Britain's Greatest Sportsman' in a trade magazine, a bigger star than David Beckham.
In all fairness to Froch in his career to date despite a couple of lacklustre performances he is sitll undefeated and when the chips are down he always performs.
Froch was not backward in coming forward when he was challenging Joe Calzaghe at every opportunity but he has gone quiet since Calzaghe silenced the critics regarding his stature in boxing with the best performance by a British fighter for a long time.
Fans on the websites and boxing forums are worried by the lack of talk from Froch and his team.
Has the Cobra lost his sting?
Does he realise his days as champion are numbered?
The biggest question is why the silence?
Has the champion gone silent because of the lacklustre performance last time out or the mystery arm injury that stopped him going to Belfast?
May 26th will hold all the answers.
Is Carl 'The Cobra' Froch the real thing or just a fighter of hype built up by his promotional team?
Brian Magee knows he has no where to go if he loses on the 26th, this fight has all the ingredients to be a blockbuster
Chief support will be Gary Woolcombe taking on Gilbert Eastman for his Southern Area title and the professional debut of nineteen year old Irish heavyweight Scott Belshaw.
Tickets for the 26th May at the York Hall are available from http://www.maloneypromotions.com or via the ticket hotline on 0871 226 1508
