Peltz Boxing Promotions, of Philadelphia, and Joe Hand Promotions, of Feasterville, PA, have entered into a agreement to have all professional boxing cards at the New Alhambra televised to more than 850,000 soldiers and military personnel on the Armed Forces Network (AFN). The deal kicks off with the delayed showing of the June 16, 2006, card which features Rogers Mtagwa, of Philadelphia, PA, defending his USBA featherweight title against Artyom Simonyan, of Los Angeles, CA, in a scheduled 12-round contest.
The AFN airs in 176 countries from Albania to Zimbabwe as well as more than 200 ships of the United States Navy.
The June 16 card also is televised on a delayed basis (7.30 pm, June 24) over the CN8 network, which includes seven million homes from Maine to Maryland.
Peltz and Hand recently entered into a three-year agreement with the New Ahambra for the exclusive right to promote professional boxing at the 1,200-seat arena.
Tickets for June 16 are priced at $35, $45, $50. They are on sale at the offices of Peltz Boxing Promotions, Inc. (215-765-0922) and Joe Hand Promotions (215-364-9000).
