NABF Light Welter titlist Herman Ngoudjo led the way last night, turning back ex-world title challenger John Brown in Montreal, Canada. It was largely one way traffic as Ngoudjo won nearly every round on the ringside scorecards, 120-109 and 119-110 twice. Also on the bill, light middles Sebastien Demers and Sherwin Davis engaged in a slugfest that saw both men hit the deck early before Davis was unable to answer the bell for the eighth round.
In New York, former world heavyweight title challenger Shannon Briggs knocked out Chris Koval. Willful but lacking in quality experience, Midwesterner Koval was hit early and often by Briggs and was pulled out by his corner after getting canvassed twice in the third round. With the win, Briggs now holds the USBA, NABO and NABA belts. Promising Minnesota based light middle Matt Vanda was upset by unheralded journeyman Martinus Clay via eight round majority decision.
In Bangkok, Thailand, former bantamweight world title challenger Saohin Srithai Condo retained his PABA Featherweight crown with a ninth round technical decision over Ariel Delgado.
