British and Commonwealth Cruiserweight Champion Mark Hobson looks to defend his titles tonight in Barnsley, England, against challenger John "Buster" Keaton on a superb bill put on by Sports Network. With ten of his thirteen losses coming by way of stoppage, Keaton, 25-13 (15), may not last the distance with the towering Hobson, 24-4-1 (12), but the Sheffield slugger has shared the ring with some good lads and will undoubtedly put on a good show.
Hobson is coming off a staggering slugfest with WBU Champion Enzo Maccarinelli, which he narrowly lost in March to the hammer fisted Welshman. The undercard is stuffed with some of the top domestic operators in the UK, from former champions all the way down to flashy unbeaten prospects.
Chief attractions supporting the main event are a pair of undefeated Liverpool lads, middleweight Paul Smith and English Featherweight Champion Derry Matthews.
Also expected to fight on the bill are ex-British Light Middleweight Champion Ryan Rhodes, former Commonwealth/WBF Welterweight titlist James Hare, former Commonwealth Flyweight kingpin Dale Robinson along with bright prospects Kell Brook at welter and Tony Quigley at light heavy. Rounding out the card is local super middleweight, Rob Burton.
