British and Commonwealth Cruiserweight Champion Mark Hobson survived a flooring at the hands of challenger John "Buster" Keaton last night in Barnsley, England on a cracking Sports Network show. Hobson was canvassed by a vicious overhand right counter in the second frame of the contest and had to show all his grit to survive the round as Keaton tried his best to finish the champion. After clearing his head during the third, Hobson put on the pressure in the fourth, battering Keaton with such two handed ferocity that referee Dave Parris had no choice but to intervene and call off the mugging just ten seconds from the bell to end the fourth.
There were several big names on the undercard and all were victorious. Ryan Rhodes, Derry Matthews and James Hare walked away winners while undefeated prospect Paul Smith and ex Commonwealth Champion Dale Robinson pulled out close one point decisions over Conroy McIntosh and Moses Kinyua, respectively.
