Former British Super Featherweight title challenger Steve Conway's surprise run as IBO Light Middle Champion came to an end last night in Hungary last night as the Englishman was outpointed by Atilla Kovacs 116-111 and 117-110 twice. Conway, 34-7 (6), began moving up in weight after suffering a knockout loss to Alex Arthur for the British 130lb title in 2002 and won the IBO crown with a convincing win over Mihaly Kotai earlier this year in March. But the British southpaw wasn't able to keep his crown from the clutches of natural light middle Kovacs, 19-1 (12), who hasn't lost a bout in his last sixteen contests.
