Last night in Detroit, Michigan, Mary Joe Sanders kept her perfect 21-0 (6) record intact with a dominating performance to take the vacant WIBA Light Middleweight crown. The 32 year old Sanders won every round on the scorecards at The Palace at Auburn Hills but could not knock out the previously unbeaten Tricia Turton, now 8-1 (3). Sanders adds the WIBA belt to a trophy cabinet that already includes the WIBA and WBC Welterweight title and the WBC Light Welter bauble. With the victory, Sanders could see a unification bout with reigning WIBF titlist Heidi Hartmann of Germany.
