Tonight at York Hall in London, unbeaten bantamweight Martin Power looks to add to his title collection when he takes on South African visitor Tshifiwa Munyai for the vacant Commonwealth crown. Already the current British Champion, hometown hero Power, 19-0 (8), has moved through a tough trio of domestic competition over the last year, posting victories over Dale Robinson, Ian Napa and Isaac Ward while Munyai, a bit less experienced at 9-0-1 (5) but sporting the charming nickname of "The Atomic Spider", will be making his first appearance outside his home country.
The undercard features a matchup that could very well be the best bout of the night when Maloney Promotions put one of their recent signings, Ajose Olusegun, in with one of Britain's best kept secrets, Ali Nuumbembe, at welterweight. Both native Africans now residing in the UK, the pair each have pulled upsets over major domestic British competition. Nuumbembe, 15-1-1 (6), has disposed of Gavin Down and imposed a dominating draw on David Barnes over the past 15 months while the southpaw Olusegun, 16-0 (8), stopped current Commonwealth Light Middle champ Bradley Pryce almost two years ago.
