Featherweight Imran Khan has become the newest member of the Impact Stable by signing professional terms and if all goes according to plan he should have his debut at The Kings Hall, Stoke on 30th September.
Khan had a glittering career as an amateur winning the Midlands Area Championship three times: once as a senior and twice in the juniors. Born and bred in Stoke Khan initially trained under |
Fred Deakin before moving on to George Burton ABC, Stoke ABC and most recently Burslem ABC.
On turning professional Imran said:
“I am excited and I’m looking forward to my first bout in front of all of my friends and family. I want to win major titles but I will take one step at a time and am content to start with the Midlands Area Title. Scott Lawton is a great role model and an inspiration and I would like to match his achievements”.
“I am happy to be part of Team Impact; I kept hearing about the buzz here and I am glad to be a part of it. The training is totally professional and the management and support that I get is superb.”
Commenting on Khan’s prospects Scott Lawton said:
“Imran has got all the talent and punching power that he needs to take him all the way and only Imran’s desire will determine how far he goes.”
Impact’s head coach Lindon Newbon added:
“Imran fits into the set up here really well and is committed to Team Impact already. He is very talented but isn’t the finished article yet; he still needs to work on ironing out a few amateur traits
