Cestus Management’s top 140-pound contender, “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis, suffered a cut during sparring which has caused the cancellation of his July 29, HBO Boxing After Dark showdown with “Vicious” Vivian Harris. Arnaoutis was immediately taken to a specialist who informed the fighter and his management company that the fight would have to be called off. “Mighty” Mike insisted that he wanted to fight but Cestus Management, heeding medical advice, decided to cancel the fight.
Cestus Management’s chief advisor Mike Micheal said, “As much as I understand Mighty Mike and his desire to want to fight despite his serious injury, we at Cestus cannot, in good conscience, risk the health and wellbeing of our fighter. Our sincerest apologies go out to the fans, HBO, and all involved.” Michael added, “Mike will heal from this and we will be back better than ever and will fight anyone.”
