Williams Taunts Klitschko.

By Boxing Press December 8th, 2004 All Boxing News, Boxing Previews
As world boxing attention fixes firmly on Las Vegas for the WBC heavyweight title fight between Vitali Klitschko and Danny Williams, the challenger took the opportunity of the enhanced media focus to launch a verbal attack on the champion.

Williams offered a comparison to the press regarding how he managed to fight n and win his fight against Mark Potter despite the disadvantage of one of his shoulders being dislocated. Williams asserted that Klitschko, "has a yellow streak," based on the fact that Klitschko was winning against Chris Byrd but refused to fight on after damaging his shoulder. Klitschko did not respond in kind but these accusations must have the champion absolutely fuming. It seems that things are unsettled in general regarding this fight in Vegas as despite the fact that the Klitschko camp have no objections, the Nevada State Athletic Commission have insinuated that there is something improper about Williams' facial hair. The NSAC state that Williams's beard might prove to be abrasive on the champion's skin. Williams has threatened to pull out of the fight if the NSAC pursues this line of inquiry. Why a state athletic commission would pursue such an issue on behalf of a champion while the fighter who would potentially be affected by it (Klitschko) remains indifferent is strange to say the least.
