Lowe began boxing in 1996 at the RHP Amateur Boxing Club and boasts an impressive amateur record, winning 12 of his 17 bouts and picking up an ABA Novice Title before joining the marines in 1999. He continued boxing during his military service winning a further 6 out of 7 contests and representing the Royal Marines in Australia in 2002. Another former Royal Marine and current Midlands Area Welterweight Champion, Stuart Elwell, has been one of Lowe’s sparring partners in the past.
Lowe has also collected professional honours as a kick boxer winning 6 of his 7 contests in the discipline and picking up an English Welterweight Title.
Former WBF Super-Featherweight Champion, Carl Greaves, manages welterweight Lowe and Greaves said:
“Andrew is a talented boxer and I don’t see why he shouldn’t go far in the sport, he’s got a good amateur record and is used to winning. He puts in the effort in the gym and I am happy with his attitude, if he keeps it up he has every chance of picking up major honours down the line.”
Regarding teaming up with Impact Boxing Greaves went on to say:
“It’s a matter of trust really and Scott Lawton and I go back a long way, we boxed each other as amateurs, and you always know where you are with Scott. Also, its not too far for Andrew’s fans to travel to Stoke so if all goes well I hope we can continue the relationship with Impact.”
Tickets for Impact’s 30th September show can be obtained by contacting the ticket-line on: 0845 156 7168.
