In the sunny climes of Pompano Beach, Silverhawk Boxing put on a show featuring the middleweight Mitchell brothers of Philadelphia at Club Cinema. Aaron Mitchell, 25-1-1 (2), won the IBO Intercontinental belt with a sixth round stoppage over Christopher Holt, 12-7 (8). Holt, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, went to war with the big puncher but in the end didn't have the chin to go the distance.
Eric Mitchell, 20-4-1 (10), was hard pressed to solve the defensive riddle posed by Chicago's Fernando Hernandez, 18-10-2 (8), but the curtain came down at 2:02 of the eighth frame and with it, Mitchell wins the NBA Light Middleweight crown. Also on the bill, Detroit's unbeaten heavyweight Leo Nolan, 26-0 (10), claimed the vacant USBO title when opponent Jed Phipps, 17-5 (10), was disqualified for spitting out his mouthpiece repeatedly during the eighth round.
