Don King Introduces WBA Heavyweight Champion Nikolai Valuev To America
Legendary promoter Don King welcomes undefeated WBA Heavyweight Champion Nikolai "Russian Giant" Valuev, 44-0 (32), to the US with a giant sized media blitz to announce King's upcoming Big Red October fight card featuring Valuev defending against challenger Monte "Two Gunz" Barrett, 31-4 (17), on 7 October at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. The kickoff press conference will be held in New York this Wednesday, 30 August.
Valuev's day in New York begins with breakfast at the Regency Hotel with Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin followed by an introduction of the WBA Champion to longtime Don King friend Donald Trump at Trump Tower and finishes off with a trip to the top of the famed Empire State Building. Valuev's media tour of America will continue with stops in Chicago and Los Angeles.
Already the tallest and heaviest world heavyweight champion at an astonishing 325 lb and an incredible seven feet tall, American fans will get their first opportunity to see Valuev as he enters the ring by stepping over the ropes to face Barrett on 7 October at the Allstate Arena in Chicago or live on HBO.
