Boxing Info: Bailey and Bazan to Hedline TV Azteca Show

By Boxing Press September 8th, 2006 All Press Releases

With a combined knockout percentage of 78%, it goes without saying that the featured performers on the Seminole Warriors Boxing show on Friday, October 13th, at the Seminole Hard Rock Live Arena in Hollywood, Florida, are going into battle with just one thought in mind:

Getting the Knockout.

So consider yourself warned – if you get up from your seat, either at the arena or at home in front of your television set, you may miss some of boxing’s biggest punchers doing what they do best.

In the main event, which will be televised live on TV Azteca, beginning at 9pm ET / 6pm PT, two former world champions will battle for the right to stay in the hunt for another world title when Randall Bailey squares off against Cesar Bazan in a twelve round bout for the IBA Intercontinental Title.

Also in action will be an exciting trio of youngsters with a combined record of 37-0 with 31 knockouts – Samuel Miller, Jesus Pabon, and Carl Drumond. All have aspirations of greatness, and are looking to put on spectacular performances for fight fans in attendance and watching on television.

Doors open at 6:30pm, and the first bell rings at 7:30pm.

One of boxing’s hardest punchers, pound for pound, former world junior welterweight champion Randall Bailey (33-5, 30 KOs) has been on a reign of terror since a 2004 defeat to Miguel Cotto. Winner of five in a row, with the last three victories coming by knockout, Miami’s Bailey is well aware that a win over an ex-champ like Bazan on October 13 may just be his ticket back to a world title shot in 2007.

Mexico City’s Cesar Bazan (45-8-1, 29 KOs) has been a fixture in the world rankings for years, and as winner of six of his last eight fights, he is looking to regain the form that made him the WBC lightweight world champion in 1998-99. A sturdy warrior, Bazan - who has been in with the likes of Jose Luis Castillo, Miguel Cotto, and Stevie Johnston - feels that he has another title run left in him - one that begins with his showdown with Randall Bailey on October 13.

Hailing from Colombia, the same country that spawned Juan Urango and Edison Miranda, unbeaten middleweight prospect Samuel Miller (15-0, 12 KOs) is rapidly making a name for himself, and in the coming months the native of Arboletes hopes to join his world-class stablemates at the top of the boxing world. Fresh off an exciting eight round win over Jason Naugler in July, Miller continues to show improvement with each successive fight as he moves up the ranks.

Puerto Rican junior welterweight Jesus Pabon (7-0, 5 KOs) and Costa Rican heavyweight sensation Carl Drumond (15-0, 14 KOs) are also scheduled to see action on October 13th. Both will face opponents to be announced shortly.

Tickets for “MAYHEM” are priced at $25, $50, $100, and $150. They are available NOW at The Hard Rock Live Box Office at The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.
