Womens Boxing: Stone And McCarter Set For Lucky Eagle Clash

By Boxing Press September 13th, 2006 All Press Releases

Two of the country’s top female boxers battle for the Northwest Boxing Assn. (NWBA) championship in an eight round main event at the Lucky Eagle Casino on Saturday, October 7th at 7pm. Dakota Stone, who hails from Seattle, WA will face Layla McCarter who is currently living in Las Vegas, NV. While McCarter is 10 years younger than Stone at 26 and has an impressive 20 wins, she also stands at 5’ 4” against the 5’ 10” Stone.

McCarter is willing to come up in weight class to because of the current lack of competition in female boxing. While Dakota Stone appeared at the Lucky Eagle Casino in early 2000, the eight round main event is the first female fight at the Lucky Eagle Casino since June on 2000.

Eloy Perez, Rochester, Washington’s local favorite, who boasts a 6-0-1 unbeaten record will battle Mexico City’s Jorge Perez, who sorts a 7-0 record. Perez was the center of a debate in his most recent bout, where he was involved in a draw. Interestingly enough the scoring was 78-74, 76-76, 74-78. Eloy has won the fans “favorite fighter” every time he has fought at the Lucky Eagle Casino and will bring on the heat against a much taller Jorge Perez.

Robert Blaydes vs. Mehdi Pouroskoui, 4 rds.
