It's A Showdown Of Top Contenders Tonight On HBO Boxing After A Dark The tenth season of the hit late-night HBO boxing series rolls on with the intriguing HBO Boxing After Dark: Jorge Arce vs. Hawk Makepula is seen live Saturday, September 23 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) from the Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, exclusively on HBO. The Boxing After Dark team of Fran Charles, Max Kellerman and Lennox Lewis will be ringside for the event, which will be presented in Spanish language on HBO Latino.
Flyweight king Jorge Arce (44-3-1, 34 KO's) from Los Mochis, Mexico battles Hawk Makepula (28-3, 18 KO's) from East London, South Africa in a scheduled 12 round, super flyweight contest. Arce, a former junior flyweight champion, is considered among the toughest and most relentless fighters in the lower weight classes. Fresh off a sixth round knockout of Rosendo Alvarez in April, Arce will now move up in weight to take on the biggest challenge of his career. Makepula, a world class, top-rated veteran contender faces perhaps his toughest test to date stepping into the ring with Arce in a fight at 115 pounds that could establish either fighter as the man to beat in the flyweight divisions.
