As training camp draws to a close, IBF World Champion, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, feels he is ready for war, as he prepares for his epic battle with Orlando Salido, who by most boxing insiders, is considered one of the toughest and most dangerous opponents in the 126 lbs division.
“The Ghost” who has had very little time to enjoy his reign as world champion, is not looking past his opponent. Guerrero declared, “Salido brings a lot of experience, and styles to the table. John Bray and I have studied his weaknesses, and we’ll execute our game plan come fight night. One thing I do know is that I will be ready for what ever he brings to this fight. The fans deserve a lot, and I’m going to give them what they deserve, which is everything within my God given abilities."
Trainer John Bray feels “The Ghost” is in the best shape of his career as he stated, “Guerrero came into camp in great shape and is looking razor sharp in sparring. The kid is just a phenomenal athlete and his workouts have been amazing.”
Going directly after the #1 ranked contender in the world and the mandatory challenger two months after winning his first world title says a lot about “The Ghost” as most fighters and their team would look for the easiest possible opponent in their first title defense. Team Guerrero believes that “The Ghost” is ready for all comers. Tune in November 4th when “The Ghost” and Orlando Salido collide on HBO PPV live from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
