Yorgey vs. Murtagh Headlines November 30 Fight Card

On Saturday night, November 30, at the Santander Arena, King’s Boxing presents at gigantic night of boxing that will feature two title bouts.

In the main event, Harry Joe Yorgey will take on Irishman Lee Murtagh in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds for the WBU Middleweight championship. In the 10 round co-feature, Travis Kauffman will take on Manuel Quezada for the WBU Intercontinental Heavyweight title.

Yorgey of Bridgeport, PA has a record of 27-2-1. The popular Yorgey started his career by going 22-0-1 and had big wins over Billy Johnson (1-0); Ronnie Warrior Jr. (11-1-1); Jason LeHoullier and a signature ninth round stoppage over Ronald Hearns (21-0).

The Hearns victory set up an HBO Televised fight with Alfredo Angulo for the WBO Jr. Middleweight title. Unfortunately, Yorgey came up short. Yorgey then went on to win three in a row which included a first round stoppage over undefeated Zain Shah (5-0). Since dropping a bout to undefeated Jermell Charlo, Yorgey has won two in a row over Julius Kennedy, with the latest being a 10 round majority decision on June 15 in Valley Forge, PA.

Murtagh of Leeds, England has a record of 33-15-1 with 1 knockout. Murtagh has been a professional since June 12, 1995 when he posted a decision over Dave Curtis. Murtagh has wins over Jason Rushton (13-0); Graham Deleheady (9-2); Darren Cruise (3-0) and Joe Hillerby (7-0).

Murtagh made his American debut when he gave away over 12 pounds in dropping a close decision to Hector Camacho Jr. on August 8.

Kauffman, of Reading, PA has a record of 26-1 with 19 knockouts and has risen to number-ten in the WBA rankings. He won is his first 18 bouts, including wins over William Shahan (7-1) and Malachy Farrell (16-1) before his only blemish against Tony Grano.

Kauffman is riding an eight bout winning streak with victories over Chris Koval (24-6) and his last bout, when he stopped Stacy Frazier in two rounds on September 21 in Winston-Salem, NC.

Quezada of Wasco, California has a record of 29-7 with 18 knockouts. The 36 year-old Quezada turned pro in 2001 and has faced top competition. He holds wins over Rick Dyer (13-1); Galen Brown (29-5-1); Teke Oruh (14-1); Eric Bppse (14-3-1); Travis Walker (31-2).

Quezada is looking to get back in the win column after losing his last three bouts which include efforts against former world title challenger Chris Arreola and his last outing when Quezada was stopped in seven rounds by Bowie Topou (20-1) on May 14, 2011 in Carson, California.

A terrific seven bout undercard has been assembled.

In a six round Jr. Lightweight bout, Frankie De Alba (9-1-2, 3 KO’s) of Reading, PA will take on Osnel Charles (9-6-1, 1 KO) of Atlantic City, NJ.
In an eight round Middleweight bout, Keenan Collins (15-8-3, 10 KO’s) of Reading, PA battles George Rivera (13-8-1, 4 KO’s) of Charlottesville, VA.
Pro debuting Featherweight Wilfredo Morales of Brooklyn, NY will fight Ronnie Jordan (1-3-1) of Cleveland, OH in a four round bout.

The son of the former Heavyweight champion of the world, Hasim Rahman Jr. of Las Vegas will make his pro debut against Glyn Thomas (1-1) of Stroudsburg, PA in a four round Cruiserweight bout.

In a four round Light Heavyweight bout, Khalib “Big Foot” Whitmore (2-0, 1 KO) of Philadelphia will square off with Mark Baltimore (1-2) of South Carolina.
In a four round Heavyweight bout, Randy Easton (0-2-1) of Williamsport, PA takes on pro debuting David Vasquez of Stroudsburg, PA.

Rounding out the card will be hard punching Welterweight Rafael Montalvo (3-4, 3 KO’s) of St. Claire, PA will box Irihim Shabazz (1-2-1) of Paterson, NJ in a four round bout.
