In a stunningly swift manner, Manny Pacquiao made short work of Erik Morales within three rounds tonight at the Thomas And Mack Arena in Las Vegas during the pair's third and certainly last fight.
After making the super featherweight 130 lb limit the day before, Morales had appearing frail at the weigh-in ceremony
compared to the robust Filipino and was dropped hard in the second round. Despite beating the count and finishing out the frame, the Mexican legend was gunned down twice more in the third and declined to continue fighting at 2:57 of the round.
The victory will see Pacquiao, 43-3-2 (34), move onto further high profile bouts including a likely rematch with Marco Antonio Barrera while Morales, 48-5 (34), has probably come to the end of the line.
On the undercard, Ricardo Torres won the vacant WBO Light Welter title by posting a split decision over Mike Arnaoutis, 116-111, 114-113 and 113-114.
