Undefeated Prospect Ronald Hearns Signs With DiBella Boxing

By Boxing Press December 1st, 2006 All Press Releases

DiBella Entertainment has signed Detroit, Michigan’s Ronald Hearns, (10-0, 8 KO’s), son of the legendary Former World Champion Thomas “Hit Man” Hearns, to an exclusive promotional agreement, it was announced today by DBE president Lou DiBella.

“I’m thrilled to be promoting Ronald Hearns,” said DiBella. “Ronald didn’t start fighting until after he graduated from college. He’s a bright, well educated family man. He’s also a terrific young athlete from Detroit named Hearns. Ronald needs frequent activity and some time to learn. DiBella Entertainment will provide him with both and we believe that in a short time the boxing world will know Ronald Hearns, the person and the championship caliber fighter.”

Hearns, the undefeated Motor City native, will see action in an six-round middleweight affair, on the Jermain Taylor vs. Kassim Ouma “Home for the Holidays: The Return of A Champion” card set for Saturday night, December 9, at Alltel Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

“I am very pleased my son has signed with DiBella Entertainment,” said Ronald’s father, the legendary Thomas Hearns. “Ronald needs to gain exposure as he climbs his way through the ranks of the fight game. Being with DBE will give him the opportunity to do that.”

Hearns, comes into the bout undefeated with two of his last three triumphs coming by way of TKO. On November 25th 2006 he scored an extraordinary first round TKO over Jeffrey Osborne Jr. at the Little River Casino and Resort in Missouri. He looks to continue his rise on December 9th when he makes his DiBella Entertainment debut.

The 12-round main event, Taylor vs. Ouma, is being promoted by DiBella Entertainment in association with Golden Boy Promotions and Peltz Boxing and will be aired Saturday, December 9th on HBO's World Championship Boxing beginning at 10:00PM (ET) / 9:00PM (CT) / 7:00PM (PT) and sponsored by Alltel Wireless, StubHub and the motion picture Rocky Balboa.

Tickets are priced at $650, $500, $300, $200, $150, $125, $75, $45, & $25 (Students Under age 18, Seniors & Active Military). Available through Alltel Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster Outlets (501-975-7575) and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
