On October 18, 2014 in Carson, California, the World Boxing Association featherweight champion Nicholas Walters will face the undisputed champion Nonito Donaire.
The fight was officially announced by the promoter of the WBA middleweight title fight between the super champion Gennady Golovkin and Marcos “Veneno” Rubio, which will be the main fight of the night.
The Filippino holds the belt ever since he defeated the South African Simpiwe Vetyeka, on May 31, 2014 in Macao, China. On the same night, Walters defended his regular title to defeat Vic Darchinyan by KO.
The Jamaican is the 126 lb champion since December 8, 2012. Donaire has a record of 33-2, 21 KO´s and Walters is undefeated in 24 fights with 20 KO´s.
