To accommodate sports fans tuning into the NFL Wildcard game on NBC, Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, SHOWTIME has pushed back its SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast one hour.
The new start time is 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast).
In the main event, heavyweights Sam Peter and James Toney will box a rematch of their exciting fight in September 2006 on SHOWTIME. The winner of the 12-round elimination bout becomes the mandatory challenger to WBC champion Oleg Maskaev.
In the Jan. 6 co-feature, Jose Antonio Rivera defends his WBA super welterweight title against Travis Simms.
The fights will take place in Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
