German Phenom Feigenbutz Added To Big Liverpool Show

German KO star Vincent Feigenbutz (16-1, 15 KOs) will make his UK debut on November 22 at the sold out Echo Arena in Liverpool, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

The 19 year-old super middleweight faces Lorenzo Di Giacomo (41-11-1, 19 KOs) on the undercard of the grudge rematch between Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Feigenbutz, who has stopped 15 of his 17 opponents, is considered one of Germany’s most exciting boxing prospects. His aggressive style and concussive power has earned him a fearsome reputation. The young star is eager to impress when he travels to Liverpool to face the Italian veteran Di Giacomo.

“I’m looking forward to making my UK debut,” said Feigenbutz. “It’s the motherland of boxing! The fans are amazing and always make for an incredible atmosphere. Even though I am coming over from Germany, I hope they will get behind me and support me in this fight. I’m sure they’re going to love my explosive attacking style.

“I may only be 19 years old, but I have unseen power for someone my age. On November 22, Di Giacomo will taste my power, and he’s going to get knocked out! He may be experienced, he’s old enough to be my father, but he’s not going to stand a chance. Don’t blink or you might miss it!”

Feigenbutz is the latest addition to a bumper bill in Liverpool, which amongst its star names, features British super middleweights George Groves, James DeGale MBE and Callum Smith. All of whom, the young German considers as potential future opponents.

“I would love to fight any one of them,” said Feigenbutz. “They all have my respect, but honestly, I believe I could beat all three of them. Once I’ve wiped out my domestic rivals, I would be willing to face any of the British super middleweights!”

Said promoter Kalle Sauerland: “Vincent is an exceptional young talent who has taken the German boxing scene by storm. We’re excited for him to have the opportunity to showcase his skills on such a big show. He is a power punching, no nonsense fighter and the British boxing fans are going to love him!”

Feigenbutz’s UK bow comes on a huge night of boxing in Merseyside as Bellew and Cleverly meet in their long-awaited rematch, with Scott Quigg and Jamie McDonnell defending their World titles against Hidenori Othake and Walberto Ramos respectively.

James DeGale meets Marco Antonio Periban while two of his British Super Middleweight peers are in action as George Groves meets Denis Douglin and Callum Smith tackles Nikole Sjekloca in a WBC title eliminator. Heavyweight sensation Anthony Joshua MBE defends his WBC International title against Michael Sprott in a British title eliminator and promoter Eddie Hearn is set to add more names to the bill soon.

Cleverly v Bellew II is exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office on 22 November with George Groves, Anthony Joshua MBE, James DeGale MBE and more, also on the bill. skysports.com/cleverlybellew.
