Green Machine Promotions are please to announce that word class light heavyweight contender Danny Green will face top domestic rival Paul Murdoch at the Netball Centre in Australia’s sporting mecca of Melbourne on Sunday, 21 January 2007.
Green, 22-3 (20 KO's) vs Murdoch, 25-6-1 (16), promises to be an all action affair as two of Australia’s best light heavy weights go toe to toe for the WBA PABA and the IBF Pan Pacific regional titles. A loss will spell disaster for either boxer’s future.
Green is currently the WBA #13, IBF #9 and WBC #12 light heavyweight, whilst Murdoch is the WBA #16. A win for either fighter will move them up all the association ratings and a step closer to a world title bout. Green last fought in Melbourne in January 2003 when he KO'd Brad Mayo in the first round and is looking forward to the atmosphere and support provided by the locals.
Green’s USA agent Don Majeski has been negotiating with the WBA Champion Silvio Branco and reports are that if the Italian is successful in his mandatory defense against Germany’s Stipe Drews, the winner of Green vs. Murdoch will be granted the next title fight against Branco.
Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster7 or the attached website link http://www.snhc.com.au/ from Friday 8 December 2006.
